Bench welding mirrors POLYS P-4
Bench welding mirrors are a special variation of the popular hand
welders POLYS P-4. The welding mirrors have a round heating plate,
covered at both sides with a layer of a special antiadhesive thermoplastic
material (PTFE). This type of heating plate is mainly used for
welding of thin wall plastic pipes, especially in construction
of drain systems or similar distribution systems for substances
where high pressure tolerance is not required.
The design of the welding mirror enables its fixation to the
working table using a clamp. This enables the welder to have both
hands free to complete the welding process. The temperature is
controlled by the reliable
systems used in the hand welders POLYS P-4.

TraceWeld is the most modern control system of
fusion welding and it is available in all
the POLYS P-4 welders. Each type of this welder has a slightly different
control means.
As an example we would demonstrate the P-4a, since this type of
control is the most popular one. The set of welding temperature
and of the pipe size is very simple just by turning the control
wheel and the rest is done by the electronics. The patented TraceWeld
system allows even less experienced operators to make perfect welds.
|

|
The P4a welder allows for the precise setting
of the temperature from 180 to 280 degrees C. The temperature setting
is executed by the blue setting wheel 1. The operator must
use a tool such as a screw driver or a small coin to be able to
adjust the welding temperature setting.
The outer red ring 2 is used to set the pipe size. After
the temperature and the pipe size were set, the welder is turned
on by plugging it
to the power outlet. The correct operation of the welder is indicated
by
the lit red diode 3 and also by the green LED 4 for
the temperature. When the green diode starts flashing , the welder
is ready to start
the welding process. Just before pressing the pipe ends to the welder
attachments, the operator shall push the button Timer 5.
The welding process is indicated as follows:

|
The professional Blue Line of welders is available
with four types of temperature control. They can be also ordered
with top of the line acoustic and visual signalling TraceWeld .
The above system provides the welding process times according to
the material type and the pipe size.

|
The P-4a welder has the infinitely variable temperature
settings from 180 to 280 °C. The temperature set point is achieved
by turning the control button.
The P-4a welder with acoustic signalling TraceWeld provides the
welding process times. The temperature settings is made by the
inner part of the control button, while the process signalling
times are given by entering the pipe size by the outer part of
said button with click in positions for each pipe size settings.
|
 |
The P-4b welder lets you set the welding
temperature with a thumb switch with steps of 5 °C. The minimum
set temperature is 100 °C. That would allow welding of materials
with very low melting point.
|
 |
The P-4c allows to set infinitely variable
welding temperature and
acoustic signalling by the three push buttons. The temperature is
shown on the display. The TraceWeld system is controlled by one
multifunction push button, where the long push would set the pipe
size and the short push would start the welding cycle timing.
|
 |
The P-4d welder has the working temperature range from 180
to 280°C with 5 °C steps.
The set temperature is indicated by lit red diode next to the number
as follows:
- If one LED is lit, the heater temperature equivalent to the
number next to the diode.
- If two diodes are lit, the heater temperature is the average
of both numbers, for example if diode is on next to the 210 and
220 °C, the actual temperature is 215 °C.
